COMS Communication Styles
COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.
COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.
Strategic Planning
This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.
As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

Offsite Facilitation FAQs
What is offsite facilitation?
Offsite facilitation involves guiding a team through structured discussions and exercises at a location away from the regular workplace. It’s designed to help groups think more creatively, reset priorities, or align on strategy without the distractions of day-to-day operations. A facilitator leads the process and ensures sessions stay focused and inclusive. The change in environment often supports deeper reflection and stronger collaboration.
Why should we host an offsite session?
Offsites create space for intentional conversation, long-term planning, and relationship building. They’re helpful when your team needs to align on goals, resolve challenges, or refresh team dynamics. Being away from the office helps participants think more openly and engage with a broader perspective. A skilled facilitator adds structure to ensure time is well spent.
What does a facilitator do during an offsite?
The facilitator designs the session agenda, leads exercises, and manages group flow to keep things productive. They remain neutral while helping the group surface insights, address tensions, and clarify decisions. Their presence allows team leaders to fully participate rather than manage logistics. This creates more balanced participation and more useful outcomes.
How is an offsite agenda developed?
We co-create the agenda with you, based on the team’s goals, past dynamics, and current challenges. We’ll ask questions in advance to understand what’s working and where growth is needed. The agenda often balances strategic planning, team exercises, and reflection. It’s built to meet your team where they are and move them forward.
Can offsites be used for strategy planning?
Yes, offsites are an ideal setting for strategy development, especially when supported by a trained facilitator. They allow teams to step back, analyze the current state, and set priorities for the future. Sessions often include visioning, scenario planning, and roadmapping exercises. A facilitator helps ensure all voices are heard while moving toward alignment.
How long should an offsite session be?
Most offsites range from a half-day to two full days, depending on your objectives and team size. Shorter sessions are useful for focus areas, while longer offsites provide space for deeper engagement and relationship-building. We can help you determine the right structure based on your timeline and goals. Breaks and informal time are also included to maximize value.
What are the benefits of having a neutral facilitator?
A neutral facilitator creates space for open dialogue without favoring any one viewpoint. This helps teams address sensitive topics, surface assumptions, and build trust. It also frees leaders from having to guide the conversation while participating. The result is often more balanced input and clearer shared commitments.
Can you help us choose a location or venue for the offsite?
Yes, we can offer recommendations or collaborate with your team on logistics based on your location and budget. The environment plays a key role in setting the tone for the session. We consider accessibility, comfort, and space for group and breakout work. A well-chosen venue supports focus, creativity, and psychological safety.
