COMS Communication Styles
COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.
COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.
Strategic Planning
This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.
As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

Change Management Facilitator FAQs
What does a change management facilitator do?
A change management facilitator helps teams navigate transitions through structured dialogue, planning, and implementation strategies. They guide leadership and staff in identifying concerns, addressing resistance, and creating clear action steps. These facilitators often support large-scale organizational shifts such as restructures, system upgrades, or new leadership. Their role is to keep progress aligned with strategic goals while maintaining engagement across departments.
When should we bring in a facilitator during organizational change?
Engaging a facilitator is most effective early in the planning phase, especially when change may impact roles, responsibilities, or morale. They can assist with readiness assessments, stakeholder alignment, and communication strategy development. Involving them later is still helpful for resolving friction or regaining momentum. Timing should depend on the complexity of the transition and the level of internal capacity.
How do facilitators reduce resistance to change?
Facilitators create space for open conversation, allowing concerns to surface in a constructive way. They use structured methods to gather input, clarify misunderstandings, and promote shared understanding. By making space for employees to feel heard, they reduce defensiveness and passive pushback. They also help leadership communicate clearly and consistently throughout the process.
Do we still need HR or consultants if we hire a facilitator?
Yes, facilitators complement rather than replace HR or external consultants. While HR focuses on policy, compliance, and internal communication, facilitators handle the group dynamics that shape adoption. External consultants may design the strategy, while facilitators make sure stakeholders stay involved and informed. It’s about creating cohesion between technical planning and human experience.
How is change facilitation different from project management?
Project managers coordinate tasks, deadlines, and resources, while facilitators focus on how people respond to change. Facilitators address emotions, uncertainty, and interpersonal impacts during a transition. Their work enhances engagement, improves clarity, and keeps teams grounded during complex rollouts. Both roles are vital, but their focus and tools are distinct.
Can we use facilitation for culture change initiatives?
Yes, facilitation is well suited to supporting culture shifts and long-term transformation. It helps groups reflect on shared values, identify barriers, and design inclusive actions that reflect collective input. Culture change often needs deeper discussion and buy-in from all levels of the organization. Facilitators provide neutral guidance throughout that sensitive process.
What if our team is remote or hybrid?
Facilitators are trained to work across virtual, in-person, or mixed environments. They use digital tools to ensure remote participants are equally engaged and heard. Breakouts, real-time polls, and visual collaboration boards make sessions more interactive. Hybrid facilitation requires intentional design, which experienced professionals bring to every session.
How long does a change facilitation process take?
Timelines vary depending on the scope and type of transition underway. Some sessions focus on short-term alignment and take a few hours, while broader change initiatives span several months. A facilitator can help create a phased approach that balances urgency with thoughtful pacing. The key is allowing time for reflection, iteration, and feedback.
What size of organization benefits most from change facilitation?
Organizations of all sizes benefit, but especially those with cross-functional teams or complex reporting structures. Mid-sized and large organizations often see better cohesion when facilitation is part of their change strategy. Smaller businesses can also benefit when undergoing growth, succession, or policy shifts. The value lies in addressing the human impact of disruption, regardless of headcount.
How do we measure success from facilitated change sessions?
Success is measured through both qualitative and quantitative feedback. You might assess team clarity, alignment, and emotional readiness after key sessions. Surveys, follow-up interviews, and tracking implementation progress offer useful benchmarks. Facilitators often help co-design these evaluation tools with leadership.
