COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.

COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.

Strategic Planning

This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.

As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

FAQs for Regina, SK Facilitator

What facilitation services are available in Regina?

In Regina, we support a wide range of facilitation needs including strategic planning, leadership retreats, team communication sessions, and stakeholder engagement. Each process is shaped by your organization’s goals, team culture, and decision-making context. Whether you’re clarifying direction, managing transitions, or strengthening collaboration, we tailor every session. Facilitation formats are designed to encourage open conversation and shared commitment.

Who typically hires a facilitator in Regina?

Facilitators are often hired by nonprofits, government departments, school divisions, and cooperative associations. We also support Indigenous-led organizations and community coalitions across Saskatchewan. Teams facing change, growth, or complex planning challenges often seek a neutral process lead. Our goal is to help your group surface insight and move forward with clarity.

Do you offer in-person facilitation within Regina and nearby areas?

Yes, we facilitate sessions throughout Regina, including offsite venues in Moose Jaw, Emerald Park, and White City. In-person formats are ideal for deeper engagement, relationship building, and multi-day sessions. Whether in a boardroom or community hall, we bring adaptable tools to meet the group where they are. Rural and regional delivery is available on request.

What is the facilitation process like?

It starts with an intake conversation to understand your team’s goals, pain points, and desired outcomes. We then co-develop a session plan that includes format, pacing, and key discussion questions. On the day of the session, we guide the group through structured conversation and collaborative work. Afterwards, we can provide summaries, visuals, or support for implementation.

Can sessions support Indigenous engagement processes in Saskatchewan?

Yes, we collaborate with Indigenous organizations and communities to design respectful, culturally informed sessions. This may include adapting formats, incorporating traditional practices, or co-facilitating with community partners. The goal is to create space for authentic participation and inclusive dialogue. Each session is shaped in consultation with your team.

What types of organizations benefit from facilitation in Regina?

Facilitation is valuable for leadership teams, volunteer boards, multi-stakeholder coalitions, and cross-functional workgroups. Groups benefit when decisions need alignment, planning feels stuck, or relationships need renewal. Many clients return for quarterly strategy check-ins or annual planning sessions. Every facilitation is built to meet your context and stage of development.

Are virtual facilitation options available for Regina-based teams?

Yes, we offer virtual facilitation using Zoom, Miro, and shared documents to support remote teams. Online sessions include structured participation, visual collaboration, and breakout rooms. They’re especially useful for distributed staff, hybrid workplaces, or cross-regional partnerships. We also provide tech support and pre-session onboarding when needed.

How do you keep group discussions productive?

We balance structure with flexibility, using clear framing, time guidelines, and focused questions. Skilled facilitation helps manage airtime, draw in quieter voices, and redirect unproductive patterns. Our role is to create an environment where people can speak honestly and listen actively. Ground rules and visual tools support this process.
