COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.

COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.

Strategic Planning

This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.

As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

FAQs for Saskatchewan Facilitator

What facilitation services are offered in Saskatchewan?

Facilitators in Saskatchewan support strategic planning, board retreats, community consultations, and leadership development. Services are tailored for both rural and urban settings, including municipalities, nonprofits, and cooperatives. Sessions are designed to align decision-makers and move groups toward shared outcomes. Each one is structured to reflect local values and communication styles.

Do facilitators travel across the province?

Yes, facilitators regularly support sessions throughout Saskatchewan, including Regina, Saskatoon, Prince Albert, and smaller communities. Travel planning is part of the service, and we work with local venues or your preferred site. Whether you’re in the north or southern regions, we bring the same structured, responsive approach. Rural facilitation includes extra planning for access and logistics.

What kinds of organizations benefit from facilitation in Saskatchewan?

Facilitation is commonly used by agricultural associations, Indigenous governments, school divisions, co-ops, and civic groups. Many of these teams value collaborative planning and inclusive dialogue. We adapt our facilitation style to fit the organizational structure and pace of decision-making. Sessions are designed to support clarity, action, and alignment.

Can facilitation be delivered online to teams across Saskatchewan?

Yes, we offer virtual facilitation for distributed teams or weather-dependent situations. Remote sessions use Zoom, Google Workspace, and digital whiteboards to maintain engagement. The design accounts for connectivity and access challenges. Our team ensures that each voice is included and each goal remains in focus.

How are sessions adapted for regional diversity?

Facilitators working in Saskatchewan understand the cultural and geographic diversity across the province. They design agendas that respect community context, pace of conversation, and decision-making processes. Sessions are paced for listening, input, and reflection. This approach builds stronger engagement and sustainable follow-through.

What is included in a facilitated session?

Each session includes a customized agenda, interactive group work, and guided decision-making. Facilitators help teams identify priorities, clarify direction, and agree on action steps. Participants are invited to contribute without needing to prepare extensively. Our focus is on progress and participation, not perfection.

How far in advance should we schedule a facilitator in Saskatchewan?

It’s ideal to book 4 to 6 weeks ahead, especially for in-person sessions. Travel, discovery calls, and agenda design require some lead time. If you have a firm date, early booking helps secure your preferred time. We do our best to accommodate short timelines when possible.

What happens after the facilitation session ends?

Facilitators often provide summaries, action tracking tools, or visual documentation. Many groups use a follow-up call to check on implementation. Our team can also support ongoing alignment work if needed. The session doesn’t end with the meeting, it’s part of a longer process of change.
