Our Community Impact

We’re proud to partner with purpose-driven organizations.

Why this matters to us. Positive Impact was built to serve purpose-driven organizations. In practice, that means making engaging facilitation and professional development accessible to the non-profits, charities and community teams doing some of the most important work there is.

See the organizations we work with

The quality of human connection determines the quality of everything an organization creates. That holds true for a national charity, a non-profit organization and a local community team.

In practice

Organizations we are proud to work with

The teams we work with span a lot of ground: children’s health and family support, early learning and inclusive education, mentorship, training and employment for young people, Indigenous community wellbeing, recreation and public service, and medical research. Different missions, one thing in common. They exist to make life better for other people, and they invest in the people who do that work.

Reconnecting a team at Trans Canada Trail

The challenge

Navigating rapid change

Over a 15-month period, Trans Canada Trail experienced significant transition and growth, welcoming a new CEO and a new Chief Program Officer, expanding its team, and adopting new systems and priorities. The momentum was exciting, and it was a great deal to absorb. Together, these changes brought a sense of instability and adjustment fatigue, and the leadership team needed support to rebuild cohesion, trust and clarity.

What we did

Space to align and reconnect

We brought the leadership team together for a multi-day team development retreat, focused on strengthening alignment and collaboration across Directors, Managers and Coordinators. Using a communication and personality styles assessment, participants explored their own and each other’s working and learning styles, motivations and approaches to conflict, and how to adapt to work together more effectively. From there, the group co-created a shared set of team norms and agreements, tied directly to Trans Canada Trail’s organizational values. Throughout, the emphasis was on psychological safety, giving people a space to name tension and work through challenges openly. The session also offered a rare and valuable pause to reconnect, pairing structured conversation with intentional time to simply be together.

Key outcomes

  • Reconnection and trust

The retreat created a safe and open space for honest conversation. Participants left feeling more comfortable addressing conflict and engaging in open dialogue with colleagues.

  • Clarity and shared understanding

Through facilitated discussions and the personality styles exercise, participants gained greater insight into how different perspectives and roles contribute to team success. People left with more clarity and a sense that they had accomplished what they needed to.

  • Renewed motivation and energy

The overall tone of feedback was deeply positive. Participants described feeling motivated, connected, renewed and informed. The combination of structured dialogue and informal time together helped restore team morale and engagement.

I truly appreciated the time with my leadership team. Having Will and Jason present allowed us to focus on being together rather than our usual exchanges about all the work we do. The DiSC profiles offered great food for thought and helped us dive deeper into meaningful conversations about our organizational values and team norms.

Support that fits a non-profit budget

We know budgets are tight for the organizations doing this work. So we offer a standard non-profit rate to registered non-profits and charities. It is a simple way to keep cost from getting in the way of bringing your people together.
