COMS Communication Styles
COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.
COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.
Strategic Planning
This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.
As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

FAQs for Prince Edward Island (P.E.I.) Facilitator
How do your facilitation services adapt to small, tight-knit communities like those in P.E.I.?
Facilitation in P.E.I. often means working with teams where relationships span personal and professional spheres. We prioritize sensitivity to local context while encouraging open, respectful dialogue. Sessions are built to support group cohesion, not disrupt it. Our goal is to strengthen collaboration without compromising local dynamics.
What kinds of groups do you work with on the island?
We work with government departments, local nonprofits, health authorities, education boards, and regional businesses. Facilitation is suited to any group that needs structured support with planning, reflection, or change. Whether it’s a leadership team or a cross-sector coalition, we adapt accordingly. Our approach scales based on the group size and objective.
Can you provide facilitation for bilingual or francophone teams in P.E.I.?
Yes, we accommodate sessions in English and French depending on your group’s needs. We work with bilingual facilitators and support inclusive documentation. If requested, all materials and discussions can be adapted accordingly. Cultural nuance and accessibility are always part of the planning.
Do you offer virtual or hybrid facilitation options across P.E.I.?
Yes, we provide flexible delivery formats across the island, including online and hybrid options. This is especially helpful when participants are in different locations. We use tools that are easy to access and don’t require high-speed connections. Every design prioritizes inclusion and clarity.
How do you prepare for facilitation in P.E.I. settings?
Preparation begins with understanding your context, goals, and constraints. We hold a planning call, review background materials, and co-design the session to reflect your priorities. Regional needs, organizational culture, and timing are factored in. We also remain flexible in real time if adjustments are needed.
What facilitation methods do you use?
Our methods draw from Liberating Structures, Theory U, Systems Thinking, and Open Space Technology. We select approaches based on your desired outcomes and team culture. Techniques are practical, time-efficient, and always focused on creating useful outcomes. We don’t use one-size-fits-all models.
What types of issues can a facilitator help with?
Facilitators help with strategy sessions, team alignment, stakeholder engagement, and reflective practices. We support dialogue that leads to shared understanding and actionable commitments. Facilitation also supports leadership transitions and change initiatives. Wherever clarity and trust are needed, we can assist.
How long are typical sessions in P.E.I.?
Sessions can range from 90 minutes to multi-day retreats depending on your goals. Some teams need a single alignment meeting, while others opt for ongoing facilitation support. We design timelines collaboratively to match your availability. Virtual options make shorter sessions easier to coordinate.
