COMS Communication Styles
COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.
COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.
Strategic Planning
This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.
As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

Do you offer in-person facilitation throughout BC?
Yes, we travel across British Columbia for in-person facilitation, including Vancouver Island, the Okanagan, and the Kootenays. We deliver sessions in boardrooms, conference spaces, and community venues depending on your needs. Facilitators bring all required materials and design the space to support group dialogue. Local familiarity helps us tailor facilitation to regional values.
Can you facilitate sessions that include Indigenous knowledge and traditions?
Yes, we co-create sessions in partnership with Indigenous communities and organizations. This includes integrating protocols, co-facilitation, and adapting formats to reflect culture and leadership. We prioritize relationship-building and culturally safe environments. Every process begins with listening and collaboration.
What are the most common facilitation requests in BC?
Strategic planning, organizational change, leadership retreats, and interagency collaboration are frequent requests. Teams navigating growth or realignment often turn to facilitation for clarity and structure. Facilitation helps surface shared values, clarify roles, and guide action. We work with nonprofits, local governments, businesses, and community networks.
How do you prepare for a facilitation session?
We start with a discovery call to understand your goals and group dynamics. From there, we co-design the agenda and select the tools that will best support participation. We also finalize location logistics and gather any background material you’d like to share. This preparation ensures the session runs smoothly and feels relevant.
Do you support virtual facilitation across BC?

Using platforms like Zoom, Miro, and Google Workspace, we keep remote facilitation interactive and productive. This option works well for teams spanning different regions. We provide tech guidance to ensure full participation.
What kinds of teams benefit most from facilitation?
Leadership groups, cross-functional teams, boards, and collaborative networks often benefit from structured facilitation. It helps when clarity, trust, or shared decision-making needs to be strengthened. Facilitation supports both reflection and action. Our approach builds alignment without taking over the content.
How can we request a facilitation session?
Start by reaching out to discuss your needs, timeline, and desired outcomes. We’ll follow up with a proposal and draft agenda to review together. Once confirmed, we finalize details and prepare materials. Sessions can be scheduled in person or online depending on your location and preference.
