COMS Communication Styles
COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.
COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.
Strategic Planning
This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.
As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

FAQs for Ontario Facilitation
What facilitation services are offered across Ontario?
We facilitate strategic planning, leadership alignment, collaborative decision-making, and organizational change conversations. Our team works with nonprofits, government groups, and businesses in both English and French. Sessions are tailored to your priorities and the dynamics of your team. In-person, hybrid, and virtual formats are all available.
Do you travel for facilitation throughout Ontario?
Yes, we facilitate across the province including Toronto, Ottawa, London, Kingston, and Northern Ontario. If in-person facilitation is preferred, we handle logistics and travel planning. For teams spread across regions, hybrid delivery may also be a fit. Each session is designed to be accessible and effective in your setting.
What makes facilitation different from traditional meetings?
Facilitated sessions introduce intentional structure, clear outcomes, and guided participation. This allows groups to move past circular discussion and reach shared understanding. Facilitators manage time, tone, and transitions so your team can focus on the content. It’s especially helpful when stakes are high or alignment is needed.
How do we choose the right facilitation format?
We’ll help you assess the goals, group size, and time constraints before recommending a format. Some outcomes require a half-day in person, others can be reached in shorter online formats. Flexibility is built into our approach. The most effective format is the one that fits your context.
Are Ontario facilitation sessions bilingual or multilingual?
Facilitation can be offered in English and French, depending on your team’s needs. We also apply inclusive practices for multilingual or cross-cultural groups. The aim is to ensure that all participants feel supported and heard. We confirm language requirements during the design process.
What outcomes should we expect from facilitation?
Facilitation produces alignment on goals, better team collaboration, and more focused decisions. Most clients leave sessions with clearer direction and stronger internal trust. We also help identify next steps and accountability methods. You’ll leave with clarity and momentum.
Can facilitation help with conflict or tension within teams?
Yes, facilitation is often used to surface and work through underlying tensions. We create environments where teams can speak openly without judgment. These sessions prioritize psychological safety and clarity. Conflict doesn’t need to derail progress when approached with structure.
How far in advance should we plan our Ontario facilitation session?
Two to six weeks is typical for co-design and prep. For larger teams or multiple-day sessions, earlier booking is recommended. We’ll confirm timelines during your initial consultation. Planning ahead allows for the best results.
