COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles

COMS Communication Styles draws inspiration from Paul Costa and Robert McCrae’s research on the Big Five Personality Model, introducing how different personality styles prefer to communicate along the spectrums of result-driven vs. interpersonal and reflective vs. assertive.

COMS is an interactive communication styles exploration. Through answering 8 strategically designed questions, you and your team will gain valuable insights into how individuals tend to communicate and interact. By visualising this into a simple but effective grid and delivering an interactive workshop, it can be instrumental in improving team dynamics, reducing conflict, and fostering more effective communication across the organization. Each of the four identified style has its strengths in different contexts. Your team will leave the session knowing with a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse communication styles as well as how to leverage each approach and adapt their style to maximize impact and drive positive outcomes.

Strategic Planning

This isn’t just another corporate exercise – it’s a chance for you to engage your team in the planning and execution of the organization and an opportunity to align on strategic planning initiatives and actions.

As strategic planning facilitators, we guide organizations through the strategic planning process. We don’t dictate solutions to you, we enable your groups to co-create strategies based knowledge, experience and diversity. We create an environment conducive to open dialogue, innovation, critical thinking, and collaborative decision-making. This role is distinct in that it focuses on empowering your organization rather than imposing external ideas. Our award-winning facilitators are catalysts for transformative decision-making and planning. We do, however, offer guidance and insight into how other organizations operate and offer suggestions you may wish to implement. To us, strategic planning is more than just a single planning session. We work with our clients to help them navigate the strategic plan throughout the months and even years ahead. With our objective lens, we are well-positioned to offer insights into the strategic plan and execution tactics.

FAQs for Regina, SK Facilitation

What types of facilitation do you offer in Regina?

We offer strategic planning, leadership retreats, conflict resolution support, team development workshops, and stakeholder engagement facilitation. Each session is tailored to your team’s goals and your organization’s context. We bring structured, participatory approaches to foster clarity, trust, and alignment. Sessions can range from half-day events to multi-day planning intensives.

Who benefits most from facilitation in Regina?

Nonprofits, Indigenous-led organizations, government agencies, cooperatives, and business teams often benefit from external facilitation. Whether you’re making a major decision or navigating change, a facilitator helps keep the process inclusive and forward-focused. Teams that want to strengthen collaboration or resolve complex issues find value in a neutral presence. Facilitation supports better dialogue and more actionable outcomes.

Can facilitation sessions be delivered on-site in Regina and area?

Yes, we deliver sessions across Regina and nearby communities including Lumsden, Pilot Butte, and Balgonie. We work in offices, event spaces, and community halls, adapting the session format to the setting. In-person sessions offer more opportunity for relationship building and group participation. We also accommodate hybrid formats when needed.

Do you provide culturally responsive facilitation in Saskatchewan?

Yes, we work with Indigenous partners to co-create facilitation processes that honour culture, protocols, and traditions. Sessions may include ceremony, Indigenous facilitation methods, or adapted decision-making models. We support engagement that feels respectful and grounded. Each process is designed with the guidance of community leaders or representatives.

How does facilitation help with strategic planning?

A facilitator guides your team through structured steps that clarify priorities, map actions, and identify resources. We use tested tools like goal trees, roadmaps, and timelines to visualize the work. With an external guide, your team can fully participate without needing to manage the process. This helps surface honest input and build shared ownership.

Can you facilitate complex, multi-stakeholder conversations in Regina?

Yes, we help organizations design and host sessions with multiple interest groups, departments, or sectors. This may include community consultations, advisory roundtables, or task force planning. We ensure that each voice is heard and that the group moves toward collective clarity. Our approach includes preparatory interviews and careful agenda design.

Are sessions available virtually for Saskatchewan-based teams?

Yes, we regularly facilitate virtual sessions using Zoom, Miro, and collaborative tools. Virtual facilitation is ideal for distributed teams or those with limited travel capacity. We offer technical guidance and participant onboarding to support engagement. These sessions are structured to encourage active participation, even online.

How do we prepare for a facilitation session?

We begin with a prep call to identify your priorities, outcomes, and audience. From there, we create a custom agenda and help you communicate expectations to participants. We’ll also confirm logistics, tools, and any accessibility needs. Our goal is to ensure everyone arrives informed and ready to participate.
